Assessment 1: Portfolio

Practice-based portfolio to include:
Signed clinical patient examination log which indicates that the student has passed the practice-based experience.Signed record of 450 placement hours.3 competency assessments indicating acceptable standards of professionalism at this level. Signed completion of mandatory training record for the clinical placement.
All elements of the practice-based portfolio must be included to pass the portfolio.

Assessment 2: Written Assignment

Three separate reflections, using recognised reflective models, on different clinical scenarios from a choice of five provided. [The portfolio is pass/fail for this module with this written assignment for grade only].

Practice Reflection

<p>Through this final practice-based learning module you&#39;ll have the opportunity to build on and expand your scope of practice and demonstrate your radiographic techniques, the adaptation of radiographic technique, anatomical knowledge and patient care skills.  It will help you gain the skills and knowledge to be able to perform basic CT and MRI examinations whilst also having been involved in other imaging modalities such as Ultrasound and Intervention. These skills will prepare you for your clinical practice as a qualified Diagnostic Radiographer. </p>

be able to undertake a range of radiographic exposures for adults and children in routine clinical practice, in accordance with clinical skills and level of study 

be able to evaluate a complex range of imaging including cross-sectional imaging

be able to critically reflect on personal competence across all sections of the HCPC Standards of Proficiency and appropriate professional conduct by having an awareness of their professional role and responsibilities for safe and effective practice

be able to perform mobile and fluoroscopy examinations remote from the Radiology department under the supervision of a qualified diagnostic radiographer

be able to demonstrate independent patient care, communication skills, professionalism, teamwork and compassion in clinical practice and have the ability to offer advice and instructions to patients, carers and/or relatives
