Assessment 1: Other

Students competency skills will be assessed during Clinical practice 3 either on clinic or on clinical placement. Feedback will be given after every session and students should use this feedback to reflect and plan by developing SMART goals which will enhance their development. This formative assessment will take place mid way through the module and involve a meeting with the clinical supervisor, this is to inform students how they are doing and what further competencies require further development.

2 reflective accounts - towards the end of the module, this should include student insight (each reflective account should be 500 words) this will be a graded element 

Through this module you’ll develop your clinical skills further in order make ongoing progress towards meeting the competencies of a Dental Therapist as set out by the General Dental Council. You’ll have the opportunity to develop these skills in the University clinic and/or during external placements.
