Learning Strategy
Learners will complete 96 hours structured off-the-job learning outside of their normal working duties, but within their working hours. 50% of the off the job learning (48 hours) will take place within classroom-based seminars provided by the school. The remaining 204 hours will involve a range of learning activities including (but not limited to) work shadowing, training in new work practices, industry visits and further application of their learning to their job role. This off the job learning will facilitate, support, and enhance the on-the-job learning to further develop their competency levels with regards to the content of this module.
Whilst completing this module, learners will have regular contact with a Work-based Learning Coach and engage in at least one tripartite review convened between the learner, the Work-based Learning Coach, and the Workplace Mentor.
Outline Syllabus
The module will focus on the knowledge, skills and behaviours outlined in the CMDA standards with specific reference to the other two modules being completed during the year. Learners should be able to demonstrate a range of cognitive and intellectual skills together with competencies specific to business and management.

Assessment Criteria
The assessment criteria are as set out in the School of Business, Education and Law Assessment Guidelines. The guidelines provide criteria for the assessment of both coursework and examinations. In addition, the Chartered Management Institute’s Degree Apprenticeship Standards at Level 5 must be met.
