On successful completion of this module students will

have an understanding of tailoring techniques in creative design solutions and suitable evaluation and appreciation of appropriate fabrics for tailored garment structure.
2.
have an understanding of development of patterns through to garments from blocks, showing consideration of design details and the appropriate production methods and techniques.
3.
be able to demonstrate an understanding of the broad range of influences that affect changing trends in fashion design, historical, cultural and contemporary issues, evidencing innovative primary and secondary sources.
4.
have the ability to translate styles into completed tailored production patterns using appropriate techniques, with relevant supporting production information.
5.
have the ability to be receptive to new ideas, critically evaluate, identify problems and establish solutions within efficient timescales.
6.
be able to generate designs, products and methods through visual development which makes informed use of historical, contextual and market research.
