Assessment 1: Portfolio

You will submit a Portfolio of Practice that consists of your photobook in physical form, a pdf of the design files, and a Critical Reflective Summary (CRS). The portfolio evidences your practical and creative experimentation and demonstrates that you have explored and tested a range of methods and undertaken visual research. All practical content will be reflected upon in a written evaluation (CRS) that begins to inform a wider approach to engaging with the subject of the photobook as a central aspect of contemporary photographic practice.

Portfolio

This module is all about the photobook, a major element of contemporary photographic culture. From conception to realisation, you will consider the specificity of the book form, developing the practical and technical skills necessary for conceiving, designing, and fabricating a photobook. You will explore editing and sequence as key components of narrative, carefully considering the potential of design, paper-stock and binding as key aspects of concept, production and reception.

Demonstrate the ability to learn independently and to work with others.
