Synopsis

This module introduces you to issues relating to contemporary design practice. The module aims to develop your understanding of the responsibilities of the designer from a number of different perspectives.  Principles of self promotion are introduced as well as the enhancement professional design skills to improve employment prospects.

Learning Strategy

The learning strategy will be directed towards student learning through case studies, tutorials, lectures, seminars, project work and unsupervised private study.

You will be introduced to a range of themes relating to professional practice such as: Responsibilities of Designers: sustainable design, social inclusion, design ethics.
