Taught material will contribute an element every week to the SAIL programme (Score As I Learn) submitted via the VLE platform. 11 x 15 minutes weekly assignments. Each assignment will be worth 3%. Taking the best 8 out of 11 scores.

Assessment 2: Written Assignment

A report, submitted via Bright Space -Turnitin, will present student&#39;s results of simulation work in designing a stable liquid level control system using MATLAB programs.

<p>You will be introduced to analysis and design of a feedback control systems. You will study stability and performance of interconnected systems, using Root Locus and Bode plots. You will design a combination of different controllers using proportional, integral or derivative gains. Furthermore, you will develop a phase lag or phase lead compensator. You will also develop simulation techniques for implementation of computer based control systems. You will also study and develop a Digital control system and study the effect of time sampling.</p>

Apply the underpinning scientific and mathematical principles, tools and notations proficiently in the analysis and solution of control engineering problems.

Explain the limitations of mathematical and computer models relevant to control engineering.
