Learning Outcomes

On successful completion of this module students will
1.
Synthesise and evaluate research and evidence underpinning leg ulceration management issues.
2.
Critically analyse relevant policy and position documents relating to leg ulceration management.
3.
Synthesise problem solving strategies that relate to leg ulcer management issues.
4.
Acknowledge in a scholarly manner uncertainty, ambiguity, limitations of knowledge and parameters of innovations in tissue viability/wound management.
5.
Critically examine the physiological, pathological, psychological, socio-economic and cultural aspects which may influence effective care delivery.
6.
Reflect on undertaking a patient interview and examination assessing causes and factors contributing to the development of leg ulcers and factors delaying healing.
7.
Recognise the importance of preventative strategies and methods used to maintain healed legs.
