You will be actively engaged with computer based learning materials throughout the clinical schedule these will be used for immediate reference, revision and consolidation of existing knowledge and for access to new learning materials.
You will be encouraged to reflect upon the development of your clinical skills throughout the academic year.
Outline Syllabus
• Clinical skills in the assessment and planning and management of patients appropriate to intermediate level. • Health promotion activities, negotiation and inter-personal and inter-professional communication skills.• Vascular and neurological physical assessment of the lower limb• Functional and accommodative foot orthoses fabrication techniques and application to patients.

The clinical examination and the orthotics assessment will be held under University Examination Conditions
All elements of each assessment must be passed in order to gain credit for the module. (PSRB requirement).
The expectation is that all elements 2, 3 and 4 of this assessment will be undertaken within normal clinical time constraints and conditions. Therefore if you have a personal learning support plan in place which usually recommends additional time in assessments, this will not apply to either element of assessment.
