Outline Syllabus

The module will cover childhood, adolescence and lifespan development across a range of topics, including cognitive, social and emotional development. The module also incorporates personal and professional development and consideration of how psychological understanding can be used in the real world to promote social innovation.

Learning Outcomes

On successful completion of this module students will

Critically summarise current research in developmental psychology.

Identify and evaluate research methods appropriate for understanding human development.

Recognise how psychological understanding can support social innovation.

Propose and justify approaches appropriate to researching human development.

Articulate ways to mitigate ethical risk in developmental research.
