A formative assessment task will be offered within the first semester.  This will involve completing part of a task within the workbook where students will choose to critically examine a contemporary issue in Youth Sport/PE

A presentation which focuses on future recommendations for PE or youth sport in the UK drawing on evidence from other countries.

Students complete a series of tasks in a workbook related to the topics delivered in the module

<p>This module explores the role of sport and physical education (PE) within the lives of children and young people. The module evaluates global perspectives and explores issues affecting children and young people in sport and PE. You&#39;ll critically appraise some of the most significant themes and issues in contemporary society. From a UK perspective, the module also explores political, social, and economic factors that influence children and young people’s participation. You&#39;ll critically examine current issues affecting all levels of participation from foundation to elite, as well as consider how sport and PE may evolve to meet the needs of changes in society.</p>
