Assessment 1: Written draft

Formative assessment will take the form of draft submissions for both summative tasks: a portfolio typically comprising: written plans, reflections, comparisons, analyses, presentations outline or actual.  Exact requirements will be provided in detail in the Assessment Brief for this module which can be found in the Module Handbook.  You can expect to receive formative feedback, to inform your summative submission, in writing via the VLE or orally.

You are to submit a portfolio of evidence that demonstrates your developing knowledge, skills and understanding the Child/Student study and approaches to inquiry encountered across the module.
The portfolio will typically contain pieces of work, analysis, plans, drawings, reflective accounts/self evaluations etc

Assessment 1: Portfolio

You are to submit a portfolio of evidence that demonstrates your developing knowledge, skills and understanding firstly of the theories and practices of Holistic Support and Care encountered across the module.
The portfolio will typically contain pieces of work, analysis, plans, drawings, reflective accounts/self evaluations etc

This module spans 30 weeks of the second year of the MA in PSTE.  This module will be delivered alongside and integrated into Modules 4i and 4ii and will focus on Fields 5 and 6 of the Seven Fields of Practice respectively.  The relationship of Fields 4, 5 and 6 to the other Fields of Practice will also be experienced and considered.
Fields 5 and 6: Work to create environments, attitudes and opportunities that address barriers to learning and support learner growth and development.  Fields 5 and 6 provide an inter-disciplinary approach to designing and delivering a 24-hour student-centred curriculum with particular focus on learner wellbeing.
In this module you explore how holistic support and care is embedded across residential and educational settings.  You will also explore the Child/Student Study; a collaborative inquiry to analyse learner needs and progress and inform curriculum change.  You will have an opportunity to experience a range of therapies that are available to support learner personal and educational development.
During this module you will experience a range of practical skills and continue with making items of service.
