Candidates provide a draft in which they identify a problem in their workplace - or a workplace with which they are familiar - that would be susceptible of solution by the application of leadership as discussed in the module.

Assessment 1: Written Assignment

Candidates identify a leadership issue in their place of work (or one with which they are familiar). They analyse the problem in the light of relevant literature before proposing a solution, again making use of appropriate theoretical frameworks. The piece would essentially be a case study. The proposed solution would not be simply recommendations offered as part of a conclusion, but a fully worked through plan.

<p>This module lays the foundations for the rest of the course. Focusing on leadership in theory, you&#39;ll explore overall definitions of leadership and examine the different ways people understand and approach it. While the focus isn&#39;t specifically on education, many of the examples come from educational settings.</p>
