Outline Syllabus
This includes definitions and models of assessment; purposes and dimensions of assessment; methods and techniques of assessment including the use of on-line resources; the impact of assessment; the planning and delivery of assessment; using assessment and feedback to monitor progress and raise achievement.
Learning Outcomes
On successful completion of this module students will

Critically evaluates appropriate assessment theory in relevant educational contexts.

Presents a critical analysis of the links between assessment, and progress and achievement.

Develops and sustains a coherent, critical argument about how practice can be improved.

Critically analyses a range of relevant assessment methods and tools relating to practice.

Communicates effectively in writing.

Critically apply assessment tools for particular purposes and analyses the likely impact of their use.
