Assessment 1: Portfolio

Through negotiation with the tutor and using a learning agreement, students will produce one submission with the following parts:
Refer to personal and professional needs and produce a reflective summary of an identified area of interest, or emerging theme or issue within your professional context. The rationale for this should link clearly to the skills gap analysis previously undertaken.  (3000 words).The reflective summary will be supported by a portfolio of evidence and relevant materials where appropriate. (Equivalent to 1500 words).

Portfolio

The programme of study will nurture independent learning and emphasise the importance of a holistic approach to enhancing own professionalism and practice through structured workplace learning. The module will explore work-based learning opportunities together with student occupational and professional concepts, principles and techniques, including reflective practice and using established analytical tools. The student will develop and maintain a systematic approach to evidencing and reviewing practical work. There will be an emphasis on setting workplace learning objectives, reflective practice and the use of learning agreements. Student development will normally be supported in the workplace through supervision arrangements.
While exploring work-based learning opportunities, this module will nurture independent learning and a holistic approach to enhancing your own professionalism and practice. Building on a skills gap analysis in which you will identify a personal and professional development need, you will produce one submission (worth 100% of the module marks) consisting of a reflective summary of an area of interest to you within your professional context, which will be supported by a portfolio of evidence.
