Group tutorials to provide peer and tutor feedback on one section each of their portfolios. Individual students choose which section of their portfolio to bring to the tutorial.

An evaluative portfolio of your EYFS short placement, containing: • Evidence of completed and fully evaluated classroom based tasks to impact learning through the environmentCritical reflections on your learning and development throughout the EYFS placement • A rationale for teaching in the EYFS including reflection on key theories, policy and identifying appropriate pedagogy and ‘best practice’ related to an aspect of personal interest e.g. assessment, diversity, EAL, continuous provision, outdoor learning
A critical evaluation of the effectiveness of the provision you experienced on placement in relation to your chosen aspect of personal interestA summary of your personal philosophy for teaching in the EYFS, with reference to experience and future practice.

Portfolio

<p>This module will develop your knowledge and understanding of teaching and learning in the Early Years Foundation Stage, incorporating key features of effective learning environments and effective pedagogy in the birth to five age range. It will introduce you to the statutory and non- statutory guidance for the EYFS and consider how the principles of the EYFS are applied to practice. A strong emphasis is given to understanding child development and the crucial role of the adult in observing, assessing and planning for learning. This module will support you to develop your skills for observing, assessing and teaching young children and communicating effectively with them. It prepares you for EYFS classroom practice based on sound understanding and critical reflection of the Early Years Foundation Stage. You will be assessed through an evaluative portfolio of your EYFS short placement experience including a critical review of an aspect of EYFS practice of personal interest to you.</p>
