A formative appraisal of the students&#39; achievements against agreed learning outcomes will be carried out halfway through the placement. This will give the student feedback on progress to-date and help in identifying areas for development.

Assessment 1: Portfolio

Placement provider will complete an ‘employee exit appraisal’ grading the performance in terms of both social and technical competences, such as: Comprehension, Performance, Engagement, Confidence, Communication Skills, Analytical and Diagnostic Skills, Working with Others, Self Organisation, Attitude and Conduct.

Portfolio

<p>This module enables you to further develop the skills and abilities that you have developed on the first two years of your course. It will enable you to gain experience of working in some aspect(s) of information systems development in an appropriate organisational environment giving you the opportunity to develop good graduate attributes. You will have some element of choice in deciding the placements for which you wish to be considered and so will, to some extent, negotiate the type of work to be undertaken. This module provides opportunities for undertaking and demonstrating competence in the chosen type of work in a professional environment.</p>

Personal Social and Technical Skills

Demonstrate an understanding of working effectively in their practice, including, for example: technical knowledge and skills, business knowledge, professional conduct, motivation, communication, initiative, working with others, self-organisation, judgement and adaptability.

Demonstrate the ability to interact with individuals/people using effective verbal and non-verbal communication skills.

Demonstrate a critical awareness of appropriate policies and procedures, such as: risk management, self-awareness, personal limitations, appropriate use of asking for support, consent, and record keeping.
