<p>This module aims to cover planning for different types of change – discontinuous, radical, incremental or continuous, focusing on both the human and organisational impacts of these changes. As a manager it’s important for you to be able to incorporate management theory and concepts within your working practice. This module aims to help you understand how planning and project management provide opportunities for you to manage change more effectively and efficiently. You’ll have the opportunity to study project management methods, tools and techniques as well as developing an understanding of risk.</p>

Critically analyse the risks associated with change and implement a risk management strategy for an IT project.

Examine the complex nature of organisational change and effective systems implementation.

Undertake reflexive exploration of their own role as either an agent of change or a participant in the change and project management processes.

Critically evaluate emergent themes in the management of change with particular reference to their implications for IT.

Appraise the relationship between the theory and practice of leadership and management in the processes of change and systems implementation.

Make informed judgments about the implications of an approach to project and change implementation that is planned and programmatic.

Explore the implications of any change and project processes for individuals and groups within the organisation.
