This written assignment is designed to evaluate understanding of the principles and theories underpinning game engine architecture and it core components. It typically consists of a range of questions which require short and concise answers.

<p>This module aims to familiarise you with the major non-graphical components of modern game engines including the resource management and physics subsystems. It also covers the game object model and the various tools used to build a game, such as level editors. The module covers both the theory and implementation of these typical components, as well as the overarching architecture of the game engine. You will be supported in using a games industry standard programming language (e.g. C&#43;&#43;) to explore approaches to game engine design and development. You will also study engines and middleware used by industry (e.g. Unreal Engine, BulletPhysics) to help you gain an understanding of the challenges facing professional game engine programmers.</p>

Game Engine Architecture

Explain approaches to the design and implementation of non-graphics game engines and game engine components using industry standard programming languages and tools.

Evaluate the use of industry standard game middleware for implementing the non-graphics aspects of computer games. 

Employ industry standard tools and techniques to design and implement non-graphics game engine components and tools, illustrated by a working game utilising those components.

Produce clear documentation, and explain choices made between competing approaches to design and implementation of the non-graphics aspects of a game engine.
