The project framework and business setting;Project definition and scoping.The project life cycle: project initiation, design, development & testing, implementation.Project closure, handover and reviewsRisk ManagementProject planning and control mechanisms and systems.Leading and developing project teams;Project Team Management.Understanding the project team/stakeholder relationship.Consider sustainability, environmental, and ethical issues in project management.

Learning Outcomes

On successful completion of this module students will
1.
Demonstrate a critical understanding of the nature and business applications of project management.
2.
Utilise and apply risk management tools and techniques.
3.
Demonstrate a systematic understanding and a critical awareness of current problems which apply in respect of the human elements of project management.
4.
Collate, examine, interpret and manipulate various forms of data and apply it to project management.
5.
Organise, communicate (verbally and orally) and structure financial and non-financial project data in a systematic way in order to manage the project stakeholders’ expectations.
6.
Conceptualise complex interpersonal and team issues both systematically and creatively, make informed judgements and communicate their conclusions clearly.
7.
Demonstrate self-awareness in tackling and solving project team problems.
