In this module you will explore the rules of evidence as they govern both civil and criminal litigation in England and Wales. In taking this module, you will develop a range of practical skills in applying the rules of evidence in different scenarios and have the opportunity to gain an understanding of the specialist legal principles within relevant aspects of their social, institutional and cultural contexts.

prepare a written analysis of a problem which identifies the appropriate rule of evidence and how a solution is reached on the basis of the application of those rules.

understand the application of the hearsay rule and its exceptions.
