<p>“Special Interest Tourism” may be defined as “a form of tourism which involves consumers whose holiday choice is inspired by specific motivations and whose level of satisfaction is determined by the experience they pursue” (Novelli, 2005). Special Interest Tourism can be considered as tourism activities which do not involve large numbers of tourists within staged settings (which is often referred to as “Mass Tourism”). Special Interest Tourism has grown in popularity over the years as the tourist has become more sophisticated and discerning. As a result, numerous travel providers have developed products tailored to the needs of people requiring something “different” from the mass tourist.</p>
