Activities providing opportunities for formative assessment will generally be integrated into the teaching and learning process and apply to all components of summative assessment.  The nature of the formative assessment tasks used will be at the discretion of the tutor, to include for example, workshop exercises, quizzes, group discussions.

Assessment 1: Presentation

The assessment will be a 20 minutes group poster presentation relating to a current issue in the area of accounting or finance. This will be presented as a presentation at an assessment centre and will include CVs for all group members.

Demonstrate skills of data gathering, literature search and critical analysis of academic literature. 

Make an effective précis (orally and in writing) of complex situations, be able to present information clearly and concisely, and be able to respond to questions arising from that presentation.

Understand the importance of career planning and the career planning process.

Analyse current issues in a range of areas relevant to accounting and finance, and from that analysis demonstrate an understanding of their studies in the context of the global economy.
