Assessment 1: Presentation

Poster presentation on the project. This will typically include: preparing research for verbal/visual communication; a presentation of around 10 minutes; a Q&amp;A.

Assessment 2: Project Work

A piece of research-informed creative writing and critical commentary (12,600 words). Creative writing can include narrative (any genre of fiction, life writing, travelogue, nature writing etc), poetry, script or other form of creative writing. (Forms other than writing, such as a podcast series or short film, are negotiable with the module leader and must include a critical commentary).

Project Work 

This module supports students in the development of a significant piece of research-informed creative writing, culminating in a written creative output and critical commentary. This can include narrative (any genre of fiction, life writing, travelogue, nature writing etc), poetry, script or other form of creative writing. (Forms other than writing, such as a podcast series or short film, are negotiable with the module leader and their size/length must equate to the stipulated length of a written output and include a critical commentary). The programme of study and development will be determined in consultation with a specialist supervisor and the student will be guided in the project through a series of one-to-one supervision meetings with that supervisor. The project can be on a topic of the student&#39;s choice.
