An individual portfolio. This takes the form of a promotional campaign plan for an imagined event or activity as agreed with the module tutor, along with examples of campaign materials, such as press releases, posters and social media posts.

<p>This module focuses on developing your understanding of different kinds of promotional culture – public relations (PR), influencers, marketing and advertising – and your critical, analytical and evaluative skills. You will learn how to critically analyse different kinds of promotional culture and evaluate its role in society, developing skills you will need to help you develop successful, effective and ethical promotional campaigns and content. As the module continues, you will apply what you have learnt to the practice of PR, and further develop the creative, analytical and technical skills you need to succeed as a public relations practitioner.</p>

be able to conceptualise key promotional strategies and communication theories in the internet age.

be able to evaluate the premises and consequences of promotional and influencer culture.

be able to formulate a critical understanding of strategy, planning and media relationships in the institutional and personal management of media promotion and PR campaigns.

be able to further develop writing, creative and analytical skills to effectively convey information and meet the promotional and PR requirements of different organisations.
