Assessment 1: Portfolio (including examples)

The formative element of this module is ongoing, with precise submission content partially determined by the moving image specialisms and sectors you elect to pursue. Some formative submissions - for example, a mid-semester draft list of individuals and companies you have contacted to date regarding potential work experience opportunities in your chosen specialisms - may adhere to a standardised template. Others will be negotiated and delivered per the bespoke requirements of your chosen specialisms, e.g. a VFX showreel.

Assessment 1: Portfolio

You will submit a Professional Trajectory Proposal (PTP) that combines role and sector research with a proposed timeline, strategies, and assets for achieving your first work experience - and, latterly, your first entry-level paid employment - to best serve your nascent long-term moving image specialist aims. This proposal may include items like a professional network expansion database: an actively researched &#39;starter kit&#39; of individuals and companies with whom you have and will continue to seek, create, and negotiate emergent work experience opportunities.

Professional Trajectory Proposal

Building upon your first undergraduate year exploring the moving image, this module aims to help you chart your bespoke course for creative and professional development on and off campus. With support from staff and student colleagues, you will decide upon a set of potential long-term specialist career routes. Craft and industry research will complement active industry engagement and pursuit of entry-level work experience opportunities. You will complete the module with a flexible, industry-informed plan to grow and refine your specialist profile(s) and professional network to best serve your long-term goals.

Be able to create and/or negotiate individualised work experience and/or placement opportunities with coherent reference to employer and industry demand 

Be able to demonstrate, through integrated research and specialist industry engagement, an applied grasp of moving image genre, theory, history, and industries
