Learning Strategy
Students receive weekly tutorials on their progressing composition work, followed by workshops in which their compositions will be rehearsed / performed by professional performers if this is deemed appropriate by the tutor, and subject to resources being available. Outline Syllabus
Major composition projects of significant scope and scale. Project will be approved by composition tutor via a Learning Profile, and significant formative assessment will be provided throughout the year. Weekly seminar/studio class (not assessed) will address advanced orchestration, notation and extended techniques.

Assessment Criteria
The module will be graded in line with University regulations. The assessment criteria will be those used by the Music Subject Area, designed in accordance with the appropriate Benchmark document, and promulgated to students in module handbooks and on written work feedback sheets.
