<p>This module acquaints students with the insights of critical linguistics as applied to the language of power. The critical stylistic model will be contextualised in a wider theory of language and students will be introduced to the individual textual conceptual functions that form the basis of analysis in this field. Students will learn to use these tools of analysis and link them to ideological meaning in texts that they study.</p>
