<p>This module will introduce you to a range of approaches to studying music and music technology. You will develop research, source-handling, evaluation, and critical-thinking skills and apply these to repertoires, cultures, and issues appropriate to the study and creation of audiovisual media. Linked lectures and seminars will increase your knowledge of key themes, concerns, and contexts in audiovisual research and appropriate elements of wider music studies. You will have opportunities to debate your ideas with others and develop your confidence as an increasingly independent researcher.</p>

be able to identify and use a variety of source materials with discernment and confidence (PDP).

be able to apply appropriate analytical and research techniques and methodologies to audiovisual texts at an introductory level.
