Assessment 1: Portfolio (including examples)

The formative element of this module is ongoing, with interim deadlines largely determined by the production (where appropriate) and postproduction workflow of the project(s) you have elected to pursue. Universal formative thresholds may range from draft project proposals submitted early in the semester to a shared picture lock deadline later in the semester.

Formative Postproduction Submissions

Assessment 1: Portfolio

Your Postproduction Craft Portfolio will consist of a self-cut short cut film sequence with synchronised audio and sound design, displaying a range of postproduction skills. This will be accompanied by supporting documentation showing planning, research, asset attributions and critical reflection. Evidence for project planning and research, for example, may take the form of items like your original project proposal combined with annotated links to specific film sequences that inspired and informed your approach. Evidence within your critical reflection might include multiple exports of the edit, tracklay, mix, and colour grade that together demonstrate the evolution of your original creative and technical intent over time.

Postproduction Craft Portfolio

This module is the springboard for your longer-term exploration of postproduction skills and techniques including picture cutting, sound design, colour grading, and the application of artificial intelligence in the creation of film and video. The aim is to achieve foundational competence in postproduction practices as you discover your greatest strengths and passions therein.
