The module will approach tort law from a problem-based analysis, using Paulo Freire’s pedagogy. On successful completion of this module students will

Develop a detailed understanding of the fundamental legal principles of tort law, within aspects of their social, institutional and cultural contexts.

Know how to apply a sustained critique of potential arguments and developed conclusions to legal problems.
3.
Know how to demonstrate an ability to critically evaluate and apply theoretical concepts, principles and rules of tort law to complex legal problems and scenarios, with an analysis of potential arguments and clearly developed conclusions.
4.
Be able to effectively communicate solutions to legal problems, arguments and analysis in a variety of forms within the context of tort law.
5.
Develop an ability to select, critically analyse and use a range of appropriate primary and secondary legal materials, with accurate legal referencing.
