Assessment 1: Project Work

: Critical Reflective Summary (CRS): You will submit a CRS which evidences that you have developed your assignment response through research, creative experimentation and the testing of methods of production. All practical content will be reflected upon throughout as a 1000 word written evaluation that critically analyses the response.

You will be required to produce a moving image piece. The initial testing of ideas will be linked to examples and discussions across a range of creative practical approaches to the subject. Content will be delivered through seminars early in the module, and augmented with technical workshops in camera operation, sound and editing software. From this base, you will then produce a moving image piece around set themes utilising the technical approaches associated with editorial or studio practices. You will submit the work and a showreel will be compiled for a public showing that will complete the module.
The module establishes moving image as a fundamental aspect of photographic practice, encouraging you to build and refine a range of skills and abilities. The assignment is theme-based and will introduce a range of approaches of production and experimentation. The overall focus is to promote a level of realization that will lead to producing moving image to an increasingly individual and professional standard. You will be required to evaluate and reflect on the quality of practical work submitted in relation to intended context. There will be an ongoing process of tracking development via formative submission so that summative submissions are planned for and delivered effectively.
