You will be assessed on the production of a body of work that is developed over the entire year in response to set assignments. Your portfolio will include completed work supported by research, sketch studies and documentation of exploratory processes.

The module extends your knowledge of Animation, with an emphasis on exploring more advanced processes and production techniques. The frameworks and methods introduced at Foundation level are refined and developed.  This will support you in establishing a more specialist approach and a professionally orientated practice.  
You will integrate an aesthetic language for the discipline of Animation, as well as giving consideration to the impact of practices involving motion and interaction within these disciplines – and this convergence in hybrid and expanded animated practices.
The aim of the module is twofold: firstly, to enable you to develop an approach to more intricate processes associated with animation, and its convergence with other disciplines in its expanded and pervasive forms.
Extending your knowledge of creative processes will ensure that your iterative working methods are critically reflective, technically proficient and integrated. In this, the module is intrinsically linked to all modules within the degree programme and is explicitly serving Personal Development Planning aims.
The focus for the module is one of learning through practice and it is anticipated that you will increasingly work independently to hone knowledge and advance know-how.
