Assessment 1: Focused classwork observations

Formative assessment will be delivered in the form of iterative verbal feedback. The module includes formative assessment by means of observation of performance in workshop sessions.

Assessment 1: Portfolio

You will be required to submit a portfolio of work. Summative assessment of this portfolio is at the end of Term 2.
Oral presentation (10 minutes) and discussion of portfolio work supported by presentations of assets and artefacts, all research, development and proposals for these.
Summative assessment is at the end of term 2.

Portfolio

The Intermediate Studio requires you to produce works of increasing sophistication having successfully completed the Foundation Studio. The module encompasses diverse and interdependent areas of practice. It expands and elaborates upon the exploration and communication of ideas, introduced in the Foundation Studio.
The module aims to reconcile concepts, aesthetics, context of use, and technical production.  This will be developed and tested through debate and practical activity.
You will be expected to apply technical skills and critical awareness drawn from this and adjacent modules.  This will form the central focus of the module.  Support with equipment and workshops as well as industry standard multimedia, graphics, motion design and illustration available through discipline specific studio seminars.
The module aims to promote critically reflexive professional practice. Assignments focus on portfolio development through the development of working practices that are reflective and integrated.  The module is intrinsically linked to all modules within the degree programme and is explicitly serving Personal Development Planning aims.
