The formative element of this module is ongoing.  You will receive feedback on your portfolio of work/performance within the module on a regular basis.

100% Portfolio
You will be expected to produce a portfolio comprising of a series of up to 3 summative project submissions which comprise:
A comprehensive collection of appropriate research,A written synopsis which explains and justifies your interpretation of the text.Written character profiles relating to analysed text / script (Min 250 words per character)A portfolio of costume design conceptsA collection of finished costume designs showing evidence of textile consideration.Produce a visual/Oral presentation.

This module provides you with the opportunity to creatively combine knowledge and skills gained in Year One. You will further develop your ability to independently research in order to express individual interpretation for: script analysis, development of design concepts and costume illustration.
You will further explore a range of costume design methods and techniques to continue to develop your own practice in terms of being able to offer solutions to briefs set and establishing a personal identity.
Supported by a series of lectures, tutorials and workshops, you will appraise and evaluate the results of the research and design development work, as an on-going process throughout the module, to clearly identify and establish your specialism within a design context.

be able to record, analyse and evaluate information in order to form meaningful connections between 
different areas of knowledge.


be able to provide evidence of having analysed text /script, in the production of a written synopsis, breakdown of plot and written character analysis.


be able to make clear connections between all areas of research and design methods, to produce design    
work which creatively incorporates textiles, appropriate for the direction of your costume practice with accuracy, dexterity and aesthetic sensibility.


be able to creatively use and combine various research methods, materials and techniques, to explore concepts appropriate for costume design.


be able to demonstrate a professional approach in terms of content and aesthetic awareness, in the production of a final body of costume designs.
