One piece of formative assessment will be included which will normally take the form of formative feedback prior to the submission of the assignment for the module.
After the formative feedback the student will have a clear indication of level of performance.

One integrated assignment: 
Assignment components will normally include aspects related to: (i) design for manufacture (which will need to be printed); (ii) computer analysis, prototyping and digital visualisation.

<p>The module provides an opportunity for you to develop an understanding of specific Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) packages and introduces Finite Element Analysis (FEA), simulation and photo-realistic renderings and animation techniques. It introduces you to the technological issues relating to function and costs. It will develop your understanding of manufacture and engineering analysis crucial to the success of products manufactured on a volume basis. It will provide for the growth of both a technological database and vocabulary covering materials, manufacture and engineering – so that technical problems can be identified and resolved.</p>
