Assessment 1: Project work

There will be a minimum of one formative assessment point within the module. This will take the form of critiques, reviews and/or presentations as appropriate.
The major project module will be in two phases:
Testing phaseRealisation phase
After each formative assessment the student will have a clear indication of level of performance.
Continuous assessment and feedback occurs within tutorials throughout the duration of the module.

100% design project equivalent in scope to 16,500 words 
These may include:
Visual / oral presentations
Sketchbooks
Development samples
Design visualisations
Supporting market and technical information 
Final Collection/ Art work

Based on a realistic self-prepared brief and action plan your work will encourage a mature and self-motivated approach to textile design, surface design, textile craft or art. You will build upon and test research developed in THD1376 Research and Development. You will channel your creative and intellectual skills, either as an individual, or as part of a collaboration or interdisciplinary team, to create innovative, original, or highly professional proposition(s) appropriate to Textiles. You will realise the potential of your major project in a form appropriate to your intentions.
All the studies will be directed towards the presentation of work for an exhibition and an enhanced portfolio.

The inherent nature of advanced creative practice will demand the reading of different books, journals, digital materials and International regulatory standards to reflect an individualised to project work.
