Assessment 1: Project work

One piece of formative assessment will be included for each piece of work, prior to submission of the work as summative assessment for the module.

Assessment 1: Project Work

Represents the articulation and project management of your idea. This submission (2500 words equivalent) will outline a compelling and valid idea, and be supported by a rationale, appropriate primary and secondary preliminary research. This will identify the key components for the successful development and completion of your project; using these you will also submit a supporting plan for project management.

Assessment 2: Project Work

Having researched, analysed and evaluated the results of Part 1 of your major project, Part 2 will, through your knowledge, intellectual and inter-disciplinary skills, produce innovative and original solutions in fulfilling your self-defined brief.
The final project presentation will include written and visual information and appropriate use of digital technologies (6500 words). Also, visual presentation material which demonstrates a clear comprehension of your project and provides evidence to support the significance and validity of your research (equivalent to 2000 words).

This module aims to promote a forward looking, holistic, entrepreneurial and innovative approach to researching the management and production of communication design / contemporary practice in fashion communication / cultural factors impacting fashion communication/ developments in digital technologies appropriate to Fashion Creative Direction in the global context of the fashion industries.
Within this module you will undertake a process of critical enquiry through research, analysis, evaluation, planning and creative problem solving.
Your understanding of the complexities of project management and the interdependencies that projects create between various roles, responsibilities within organisations and external partners will be consolidated.
The module will enable you to interact effectively with others and to collaborate, if appropriate, with a commercial partner.
You will further develop your intellectual ability to be an effective communicator in written, verbal and visual forms.
The module will also develop your understanding of the effective co-ordination of projects and in particular project management in professional practice. This will enable you to demonstrate your commercial understanding of the management of innovation within the fashion industries.
Having researched, analysed and evaluated the results of your feasibility study with tutors, you will, through your knowledge, intellectual and inter-disciplinary skills, produce innovative and original solutions in fulfilling your self defined brief linked to your Fashion Creative Direction practice.
