A Design Theory and Context portfolio comprising:
8,000 word equivalent projects with written and design elements, broken down into a 4,000 word equivalent assignment and a 4,000 word equivalent design outcome.

Portfolio

<p>This module will introduce you to a range of relevant theories for and about design. It will introduce you to discourses and debates relating to the history, influences, production and critical reception of design. It will contextualise these aspects in terms of your discipline providing an overarching understanding of design in general as well as more focused elements pertinent to your design field.</p>

Design Theory and Context 1

Understand basic models of criticism and apply them to projects, written formats and debates.

Identify, discuss and appraise key contexts and conventions influencing contemporary design.

Understand and engage with critical discourses and debates as represented in a variety of formats.

Manage your studies independently to achieve goals and collaborate to produce and evaluate valid outcomes to meet deadlines.

Demonstrate an ability to research, evaluate and synthesise information from a wide variety of sources including University systems. 

Use basic critical models for description, interpretation and analysis of your own work.
