<p>This module covers three aspects of communication of importance in science – the ability to read and understand scientific journal papers, the ability to write a scientific journal paper (based on the student’s year 3 project) and the ability to give oral presentations. This module is taken by students during Year 3 of an Integrated Masters’ course.</p>

It is a condition of accreditation to notify the RSC of any changes to an accredited degree.

be able to competently evaluate and interpret technical information. 

be able to carry out a comprehensive literature survey on the topic of the project and from this critically select the primary and secondary sources of direct relevance to the project;

be able to disseminate their results orally in a clear, mature and knowledgeable manner.

be able to show a good level of awareness of current knowledge in an area of their subject (defined by the module tutor) via their ability to read, interpret and explain the key concepts of scientific papers at the forefront of the discipline;



be able to critically interpret experimental results from the project, draw appropriate conclusions in the light of current knowledge and present these in written format, in the style of a suitable journal;
