<p>This module provides an introduction to fluid and particle mechanics, methods of solid-liquid and solid-gas separation. It provides basic concepts related to particle-fluid motion and solid handling including size analysis. It also describes principles of sedimentation, filtration, elutriation, flow of fluids through packed beds of solid particles, fluidized bed, mixing and mixer design, crystallization and drying of solids.</p>
