This module will review the nature of ‘Biology and the Environment’ and encourage students to analyze critically the strengths and weaknesses of relevant approaches.  The course will focus on the application of biological concepts, perspectives and techniques to addressing current issues both in the United Kingdom and at a global scale. There will also be opportunity for interested students to consider current thinking regarding the possibilities and evidence for life (and thus alternative environments) on other planets or planetary bodies. The module will involve introductory lectures, &#39;issues workshops&#39;, tutorial guidance and workshop exercises in data analysis and modelling.
