Taught material will contribute an element every week to the SAIL programme (Score As I Learn) submitted via the VLE platform. 11 x 15 minutes weekly assignments (quizzes). Each assignment (quiz) will be worth 3%. Taking the best 8 out of 11 scores.

<p>This module aims to extend your knowledge of the computational methods and the related engineering principles used for the design analysis of transportation mode to a more advanced level and integrative manner. The use of transportation components and systems are featured with repetitive dynamic loading; hence the design analysis is being featured with endurance and fatigue analysis. This module will enable you to understand the engineering science, mathematical and computer based modelling techniques. You’ll gain experience in the use of commercial analysis software to solve dynamic and vibrational and high temperature structural problems (fatigue and creep damage), via the use of advanced software packages through the solution of a number of graded problems.</p>

Computational Methods for Transport Vehicles

Evaluate methodologies and develop critiques of them and, where appropriate, propose new methods, and evaluate the results from original models of structures subjected to complex loading.

Have a systematic understanding of the engineering principles of material behaviour at an advanced level such creep damage and fatigue damage and a critical awareness of the techniques available for structural optimization.

Have a comprehensive understanding of the mathematical modelling and solution techniques employed for the more advanced material behaviour.
