Taught material will contribute an element every week to the SAIL programme (Score As I Learn) submitted via the VLE platform. 11 x 15 minutes weekly assignments (quizzes). Each assignment (quiz) will be worth 3%. Taking the best 8 out of 11 scores.

Laboratory report based on a condition monitoring experiment.

<p>This module will build upon your previously acquired understanding of Operations Management, Quality Assurance and Control, together with the statistical techniques employed in probability theory. During the course of this module, you will develop further expertise necessary to implement and operate Quality Systems, Maintenance Regimes and Reliability Trials and support New Product Introductions. You will explore the role of Quality Systems in the introduction of New Products. You will also learn about the importance of ensuring that products are problem-free in their early life to become established on the market.</p>

Quality Systems and Measurement

Systematically implement aspects of TQM, including tools, systems and team working.

Critically analyse and select maintenance systems for various conditions of operation and use some of the technical equipment associated with Condition Based Maintenance.

Systematically undertake reliability trials and interpret the results effectively.

Gain systematic understanding of Total Quality Management and a comprehensive understanding of how to analyse plant so that appropriate maintenance systems can be employed.

Have a critical awareness of how an understanding of reliability measures and techniques can influence design, manufacture and maintenance.
