Formative assessment will be provided in workshops to assist students in refining and developing ideas whilst clarifying their understanding of the content delivered in lectures. Specific guidance will also be provided to assist students in developing new skills. Opportunities will be provided for peer evaluation/idea development in a supportive environment.

Assessment 2: Presentation

A 10 minute group presentation that makes use of appropriate digital media technology/assets to pitch a business proposal to a panel. Each individual is required to generate a range of digital media assets and perform a defined role within a small team. Individual contribution is peer assessed.

Assessment 1: Written Assignment

A report that explores the cutting edge of research in one area of Music Technology research. Two relevant academic papers and supporting background literature that explores/investigates the chosen topic must be identified and outlined using appropriate language, terminology, referencing and formatting.

<p>This module focuses on broadening your horizons by exploring cutting edge research and career opportunities in the context of Music Technology / Production and Audio Engineering whilst developing core transferrable skills that prepare you for gainful employment and entrepreneurship. The first half of the module focuses on developing your skills in the research and communication of ideas both verbally and in written form. It also raises awareness of current research interests and the state of the art in Music Technology/Production and Audio Engineering. The second half of the module explores professional and personal development in the music industry via a group business simulation project.</p>
