<p>Athletes’ nutritional needs are influenced by the type of sport, level of physical activity, health status, age and sex. An athlete’s diet will affect their performance, as well as their current and future health. Accurate nutritional assessment is the foundation of advice to meet their energy, macro and micronutrient, and fluid needs. Furthermore, they need to train and compete to the best of their ability without compromising their health. In this module you will study the principles, methods, and limitations of nutritional assessment, including dietary, anthropometric, physiological and biochemical methods.</p>
