Assessment 1: Exam

Formative assessment will be based on mock practical exam and practical exam questions. This will be supported via a range of online resources which can be accessed via the virtual learning environment. Students can formatively monitor their progress through feedback from tutors, self-assessment and tutor-assessed tests and reflective logs.

Assessment 1: Practical Skills Assessment

A practical exam demonstrating the standards of proficiency for a podiatrist practicing podiatric surgery have been met.

Practical Skills Assessment

You will demonstrate that you have met the required standard to work as a podiatrist practising podiatric surgery. This module will ensure that you are a safe, competent, reflective and effective practitioner who meets the HCPC standards of proficiency for podiatric surgery. You will show that you can manage surgical cases through all stages of surgery including, pre-, peri -and post- operative. You will display an ability to critically evaluate your own practice and establish that you have sound clinical judgement, as well as problem solving skills.
This module will confirm that the student has progressed to meet the HCPC standards of proficiency for podiatric surgery. It will establish that the student has reached competence in communication, diagnostic and assessment skills, treatment planning, surgical techniques, post-operative care and clinical effectiveness.
