The Covid-19 pandemic has caused health service managers and policymakers to critically appraise the way in which current services are designed. This module will allow practitioners to develop their skills in the remote clinical assessment of patients and service-users in a safe environment.
During Covid-19 an aspect of clinical care that has shown to be of benefit to clinical services is remote assessment of patients, Therefore, reducing the requirement for face to face assessment, where safe and appropriate, and ensuring patient safety, efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

Safely and effectively undertake remote clinical assessment whilst critically evaluating their own level of competence, identifying situations outside of this requiring escalation.

Critically discuss the process of clinical history taking and how different consultation models can assist with this.

Critically examine the professional, legal and ethical issues surrounding remote clinical assessment of adult and paediatric patients.

Critically evaluate the role of clinical decision making in the safe and effective management of remote consultations.

Critically reflect on their current practice and identify areas for ongoing professional development.
