<p>This module provides the opportunity to further develop your knowledge of leadership and management theories and strategies. You will develop the skills necessary for effective leadership and teamwork and an understanding of leadership styles to create a climate conducive to the development and delivery of high quality patient care. Self-reflection will be integral to the learning process and you will evidence learning through the application of improvement theories, approaches and evidence based practice facilitated with learning materials and procedural guidance made available electronically.</p>

Standards of Proficiency. Students will be required to pass all elements of the assessment to gain credit of the module as required by the HCPC standards of proficiency (2014).

Leadership and Management in Paramedic Practice

Report and critically evaluate the project using insights to inform recommendations for future developments, drawing on international literature.

Critically analyse the organisational and professional issues that shape leadership and paramedic practice.

Critically understand leadership skills and strategies required to lead and manage paramedic practice. 

Recognize and negotiate an opportunity for service improvement, undertaking an action learning approach, to achieve to a professional standard.

Critically reflect on contemporary concepts to inform the execution of a service change that is influenced by personal interest and aspiration.

Propose and defend judgements made to facilitate care improvement in the context of professional practice.
