You will be required to be working in a setting where patients present with minor illness. To support application of theory into practice you will need to undertake 3 weeks of practice-based learning supported by a clinical educator to guide your development and assess your competence in practice.

Critically evaluate the assessment and management of a range of minor illnesses across the lifespan.

Critically appraise the pharmacological issues around the use of therapeutics in the management of minor illness.

Utilise appropriate clinical history taking, examination and decision-making skills in the management of minor illness.
4.
Critically reflect on your own competence in the assessment and management of minor illness including awareness of limitations of your professional role and context.
5.
Recognise and manage red flags relating to minor illnesses, so that the patient’s life and wellbeing are protected.
